A ceremony was held yesterday at the Pavilion of Future in the Puxi section of the Expo site to confer degrees to honorary graduates of the University of Liverpool.
It also provided an opportunity for Chinese graduates who were unable to attend their own graduation ceremony to celebrate with family and friends.
Zhou Hanmin, deputy director of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai Executive Committee, received his honorary degree at the ceremony.
